Born in Jos, Nigeria in November 1981, he spent his early years honing skills in traditional dance and contemporary performance before breaking into the mainstream African entertainment circuit during the early 2000s.
Before achieving massive commercial success across the African continent and beyond, the brothers studied business administration at the University of Abuja. This formal background heavily influenced how they managed their brand, negotiating lucrative distribution deals and expanding their financial portfolios into real estate, record production, and agricultural ventures by 2014.
International Royalties and SACEM Membership
As a songwriter and performer, Peter Okoye secured crucial international registrations to protect his intellectual property rights across foreign territories. His association with SACEM, the French professional society for authors, composers, and music publishers, allowed him to collect substantial mechanical and performance royalties generated by global airplay and digital streaming platforms.
Throughout their decades-long career, P-Square released multiple multi-platinum albums including ’Get Squared’ in 2005 and ’Danger’ in 2009, cementing their status as pioneers of modern Afrobeat and pop fusion before officially disbanding their partnership in late 2021.
